Balatoc Mines & Crosby Park
Baguio started out as a mining town. Yup, there was gold in "dem dar hills" -- and there still gold a century later.
Right outside Baguio City, about 30 minutes away, is the mining town of Itogon, Benguet. Once a hub of mining activity, Balatoc Mines has been offering since 1997 an exciting opportunity for visitors to become miners for a day.
Visitors get to ride the under-ground locomotive train to the famous Vegas Tunnel, learn about the different stages of the process of gold mining, all while wearing complete outfits with the proper safety gear.
I have said enough -- I don't want to spoil your experience by giving away too much. Suffice it to say that the Balatoc Mines Tour is a great experience for families,*
office outings and for school excursions. If you're traveling with the "barkada" (teenage or young adult group), it will be especially fun, too.
The cut-off time for the well-organized. 1.5 to 2 hour tour is 2:00 p.m. so please make sure you leave the city early to get there before operations close for the day. The distance from from the heart of Baguio City is 16 kilometers and travel time is approximately 30 minutes.
Crosby Park is Nearby
Also in Balatoc, Itogon, Benguet is a 6-hectare pine forest that is at 1,150 meters above sea level (Baguio is at 1,500 meters) with a scenic view of mountains, deep valleys, gorges and rolling slopes.
This area is suitable for hiking, camping, meditation, photography, picnics, sports exercises, walking, and other nature-based experiences. Crosby Park is also a camp site, with an obstacle course, where one can spend the night in
the great outdoors.
NO MORE LIES AND DECEPTION, THE TRUTH IS FINALLY OUT! THE CHICKEN MEAT IS FULL OF ARSENIC!

The FDA has issued its newest report stating what we all knew for so long and finally admitting that the chicken meat sold on the market is loaded with arsenic. Arsenic is one of the most toxic chemicals and it has been associated with many serious diseases like cancer. It`s been a long time that people speculate about this, but now it`s official.
To make the matter even worse, the new report, issued by the IATP, claims that this toxin is actually deliberately injected in the meat. According to this report 70% of the chickens in America contain high amounts of arsenic. Arsenic is injected in the chickens to make them bigger.
According to the FDA, half of the tested chickens were found positive on arsenic and the toxin was found mostly in the liver. The type of arsenic used for the chickens is known as Roxarsone. This drug is produced by the company Pfizer and the FDA asked the company to stop the production of this drug.
The FDA, even after this shocking discovery, continues claiming that the amount of arsenic injected in the meat is not harmful and within the limits that are allowed and that the chicken meat is safe for consumption. On the other hand, a lot of studies show that arsenic is very harmful neurotoxin and carcinogen chemical.
A study also shows that arsenic is as harmful as lead and mercury and it can impair the normal development of the fetus in pregnant women. The study also shows that arsenic is even 4 times more harmful and poisonous than mercury and much more dangerous than any other heavy metal.
According to another study arsenic is associated with respiratory problems, bladder and liver damage, basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Even though the FDA claims that small amount of this toxin in the meat is nothing to worry about since is not dangerous, it`s always better to consume organic meat. This way you will be sure that the meat you consume is safe and you will protect the health.

North Korea accidentally hit one of its own cities with a ballistic missile last year
One of North Korea's ballistic missile tests last year crashed in a city not too far from Pyongyang, The Diplomat reported on Wednesday.

One of North Korea's test ballistic missiles last year crashed in a city not far from Pyongyang, according to new findings by online news magazine The Diplomat.
In April, Pyongyang launched a Hwasong-12 intermediate-range ballistic missile that failed shortly after launch and ended up hitting the city of Tokchon, roughly two hours from the capital, The Diplomat reported on Wednesday.
The missile's failure was widely reported at the time but it was not previously known that the Hwasong-12 crashed in a populated area.
From a location near North Korea's Pukchang Airfield, the missile flew approximately 39 kilometers (24 miles) to the northeast where it struck a complex of industrial or agricultural facilities in Tokchon, The Diplomat said, citing satellite imagery. That complex, located near residential and commercial buildings, likely experienced a large explosion but The Diplomat said it was impossible to determine whether there were casualties.
The prospect of nuclear war breaking out on the Korean Peninsula dominated global headlines for the last year, but many analysts believe the risk of a nuclear accident could be an even greater threat amid Pyongyang's lax safety regulations.
